Hi all....Earlier in the year they worked great, now after a few summer sails they are sticking half way down. These may not be the originals to the boat. Should I just shave them down and rejel coat? They have a different number than the sail if that means anything. Thanks all in advance for the help...Simie
Sounds obvious, look into your daggerboard well(s) and confirm there aren't any pebbles, sticks or shells lodged in the bottom of the opening(s). When you drag the boat across the beach, sand and other material tends to pack into the lower well openings and some of it can get hung up on the flanges of the older-style H-18 daggerwells. I've occasionally had issues not only lowering my boards, but much more alarming, getting them raised back up due to the packed, gravely sand not flushing out by itself (!!!).
