HI I am new, thanks for your help.
I am looking at an 81 Hobie 18.
The hulls have been painted, they are solid, no delamination.
A new inspection port was added about a foot from the tail of each hull, and there are no drain plugs or holes.
The front inspection port shows some foam inserts, possibly for floatation.

It had been suggested that the rudders may have struck the beach or something and blown out the transomes.
Any opinions or suggestions?
The main sail is good but the jib needs to be re sewn.
The trailer is good, no rust, reg and so forth is current.
At $500 it would seem a no brainer, but I could sure use some help.
Sincere thanks
Derek

Sterns could have been ripped or it could have been modded to use sponges for drainage rather than drain holes.

How are the sails, tramp, boards and rudders. If all in decent shape... you'll want new rigging most likely anyway, so 500 bucks would be sweet.
