Hey,
I have just purchased a Hobie 18 Formula in good shape and want to put wings on it too. I have found out that there are different wings for the Formula and the Magnum, maybe even more. Does anyone know if you can mount any set of wings to any model 18?

Thanks

FAQ has a good description. None are currently made / offered by Hobie.

The Magnum and SX wings were the only two variants of Hobie 18 wings made. Either set of wings can be attached to any version of the Hobie 18 with the appropriate mounting hardware. As Matt Miller mentioned, these wings are no longer in production, nor is the mounting hardware, so you'll need to find a set used.

The magnum wings were the first style produced, and span from forward crossbar to rear crossbar.

The SX wings were first produced for the Hobie 18 SX / Hobie 18 Formula model of the Hobie 18, which just featured a taller mast/main/jib and later a spinnaker. This version of wings extends further forward and aft of the main crossbars, and are generally preferred.
