 Post subject: comptip how big is it

I have a 18 with a broken mast
the mast broke about a foot above the jib /forestay fitting
does the comptip extend far enuff to repair my mast???

Yes, the CompTip inserts just above the tang / hound.

are all the tips the same size and lenght
will a tip for a 16 fit on a 18 mast
is a 16 tip as long as a 18 tip

or is each mast a different shape and or lenght

H-16 and H-18 Comptips are fundamentally different.

16 Comptip is straight.

18 Comptip is tapered.

Not interchangeable.

can any one with a comptip messure the part for me for a 18 normal

need details are total lenght

amount inside the alloy mast [overlap]

top dia [as the bottom must fit in the mast so is known]

sheve pin to top

any other cridical distance??

Is yours an 18 or 18SX? I am told the SX is about a foot and a half taller. Is the foot and a half additional length in the aluminum extrusion, the comtip, or partially in both?

Its in the extrusion, both use the same crap-tip.
