We have received some reports of steering drum screws coming loose. We have been using an allen head screw that is pre-treated with a Loctite strip along the threads. This has not been holding. We are changing back to a Phillips head screw and adding a drop of Blue Loctite to hold. I highly advise checking this connection on your boat. |

Not hard to check. I would regardless of year model. |

Seems I don't need to worry. Why would a screw design superseded this lock pin design? |

The screw is much easier to install than the roll pin |
