Jib Sheet

Two questions: What diameter line is must used for the jib sheet? What is the thinest anyone has used, comfortably?

While Hobie uses 5/16" for the jib sheet I prefer to use the 1/4" line on my jib sheet. I think anything smaller might be too hand on your hands.

I replaced mine with Yale Lite line this year, which is awesome. I like it a lot better than the Ultra-lite – but both are huge upgrades over the stock line.

1/4" line has the advantage of running through the blocks easier; 5/16" line is easier on the hands.

I've been using 5/16" Marstron - a single braid polypropolene line that's lightweight (floats), doesn't absorb water and it's cheap. Comes in a bunch of colors.

It does tend to wear quickly, though. My mainsheet is 3/8" Marstron and it's just about toast after a couple of seasons.
