Has anyone any experience with the Anti -pitchpole foils available through Hobie Cat? Are there any other designs out there? Are the worthwhile, and do they hinder performance much?

I've used them before on my H14. I never really noticed too much of a performance difference. They wont totally prevent a pitch-pole, but they give you a little extra time to head up or sheet out. The only problem is that they are not class legal for racing, so you will have to take them off if you want to compete. I used them when I first started sailing my Hobie, but I tend to leave them off now, kinda like training wheels.

Ihave a set on my 16 and do not interfere with performance. Only come into play when bow dips below water and force you back up. They give you enough reaction time so as to avoid pitchpoling.
Hope this helps.
