Hi,
My daughter is 16 and she has been sailing on Hobie cat 16 every summer in France. We are arriving on Newport Beach in June and I am looking for enrolling her on a one week camp, if that exists in the US?

This was posted earlier today. May be worth looking into.

"School of Hard Knocks. http://www.fleet204.com/ in Syracuse NY
Check with them, as they have a beginner/novice thing they do in the summer. Not the same as Rick's classes for sure, but I bet you come away with alot of good information/experience."

Look on the Main Hobie site and locate Hobie Dealers in those areas and give them a shout (Or Email) and see if they know any place, that be best guess.
Heck, they may have an employee that could help just one some One On One instruction.

I have been teaching teenagers to sail Hobie-16's for the past five years in the Los Angeles area. We have a group of about eight cats - we call ourselves the San Dimas Yacht Club.

Funny thing - I will be in France from June 2-10. I should be available after that.

Newport Bay is problematic to sail Hobie 16's in the past few years due to no good launch area for catamarans. We mostly sail out of Long Beach (10 Miles north) or at Puddingstone Lake (40 Miles north east in San Dimas)

What is your daughters skill level?
