Hey there - I can load shock cord into 1/2" hollowbraid to make my own righting lines and save some cash, but I was wondering how to terminate the ends so that the end of the hollowbraid and the end of the shock cord don't ever separate. Any ideas?

Thanks!

3/8 Shock Cord fits into 1/2" hollow braid. At the end of the area where the shock cork will be (not the full length of the 1/2" line) bring the shock cord through the jacket and all the way aropund the outside of the line and back to itself again. Use hog rings to fasten.

Hog Rings (and the pliers used to crimp them):

Typically, the line is attached to the rear deck lip, either by drilling a small hole through the lip (where it won't leak) and using a small diameter line to attach the hollow braid, or alternatively, you can loop the small diameter line around the rudder pin between the deck and the lower rudder casting.
