i found soft spots ALL over my pontoons. On the Starboard side pontoon it goes all the way down on the outside. I have already invested in the west system stuff to fix it, and I have the time and patience I have drilled about 800 holes on both pontoons and have filled quite a bit... it does get hard, but is it safe to assume the soft spots are really soft areas or where if you push hard it creaks and cracks? I'm going to expy resin the entire hul it seems like. I have been looking but I can't find any other hulls in the area. So I guess Im just gonna epoxy resin the hell out of it. I am alos putting in port hatches to check the insides of the pntoons, and to make sure they get dry. Any suggestions? Should I just keep epoxying until the whole damn thing is hard again? I'm halfway there for that now! Let me know guys! |

If I am not confused, one of the other post's mentiones that you are in the Austin (TX) area... There is a early 80's Hobie sitting in my neighborhood, that has not been sailed for many years - when I pushed around the sensitive areas on the hulls the thing seemed solid. The thing is cheap, but sails, tramp, sheets and most of the trailer are a mess. Patrick |

I have to admit though, although these hulls (both of them) were really delaminated, I have one almost finished, and its solid again, so the resin mix does work and works well. I'm guessing there is point when you just can't repair hulls, but i don't think i have reached that point yet. |

I live in south Texas those are in East New York.. It would cost me 3 times that to get them... Easier to fix them |

Do you know how much weight this is going to add to the hulls. Do you think you added more weight to the front of the back of the hulls, is there about the same weight added on the port hull as the starboard?
