ARE THE RUDDER CASTING DESIGNED TO TURN THRU 180 DEGREES.MY CASTINGS SEEM TO BE HITTING THE SCREW HEADS ON MY ONE PIECE GUNGEONS (SCREWS ARE IN AS TIGHT AS I CAN GET).I THINK THE RUDDERS ARE GETTING ENOUGH ROTATION.NOT SURE IF THIS IS A PROBLEM.

As far as I know, you should never need 180 degrees of rudder. Even tacking, you would only use about half of the available rudder to turn. Putting the rudders hard over when sailing would cause you to stall I think.

I do not believe the rudder turn a full 180 degrees. I know the H20 actually has a rubber stop so you do not over turn them!

Post subject:  Turn 180 degrees?

Brad is right. We added a rotation stop to the 20 because they would go full 90 degrees in a turn. This caused the tiller arms to align with the tiller cross bar and jam/lock... not good. With the tiller connector system of the 20, the tiller crossbar could actually rotate 180 and lock the boat in a turn without the stop.

Most of the other boats have a natural stop for the rudder casting. That is the hull lip. In any case, you do not want to swing the rudders that far, so hitting the screw heads is not a performance issue.
