I have a little divot out of the seam on the lip of my 2006 Hobie 16.The newer models have the seam epoxied.I was wondering if I should epoxy it(West System) or would silicon sealant work?

Mike, How little is "little"? If all you want to do is make it water tight then silicone should work. Does it appear to have any structural issue?

Pretty ,sure there is no structural damage,as it is just a small chip in the hull deck seam(probably from me hitting a safety boat, but that is a long story). :)

You might be better off making (or buying) some gelcoat putty and filling the chip with that instead of silicone. I've had lots of guys bring boats to me over the years with dings, nicks, gouges & cracks filled with silicone glue. It's a pain in the (|) to get it all out later when you decide to make a permanent repair. The last issue of the HOTLINE shows how to make your own gelcoat putty if you decide to go that route.
