Harrison, What kind of paint are you using and would you share with us how you're prepping the hulls for this project? Thank you! |

I painted my H16 with what I think is a pretty bold color. I used Interlux Polyurethane after several hours of hull prep. I had to remove my osmotic blisters and repair soft spots on the deck in front of the tramp pylons. The deck turned out really well because after sanding and pumping epoxy into the soft spots, the raised rough area on the deck was worn smoth and did not match the rest of the deck. I ended up using Interlux Interdeck to add roughness back to the deck and it turned out perfectly. Thanks! |

I am pretty sure these aren't original hull colors, but It's interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWadB_MWEp8 |

well eric weller some boat you have and i love bold colours but i have a soft spot infront of the right front casting but do i have to drill a big hole to fix it?? and how did you fix urs??(in a bit more detail if possible) and where/how did you get your hobie emblem for the side? Thx and i prepped my hulls by sanding them alot but then my bottom of my hulls were in rough shape so i re fiberglassed a thin layer or to and then i sanded it and then i put alot of coats of paint but i still need how to figure out how to fix a soft spot on the top of the hull and i am using engine paint because i think it wont get scratched so easilly and it looks pretty good and it is fairly cheap. ,Harrison |

You could mix / match hull and decks from 8 different colors Red Tangerine Lime Orange White Cream Regata Blue (dark) Sky Blue (light) Red hulls with white decks was a popular choice. The problem with pigmented gelcoat (especially red) is it fades quickly from sun exposure. That's one of the reasons why new boats are all white. |
