I know where to look for the S/N on the hulls but I have only seen one. Are they supposed to be a hand engraved number? Or does this indicate that a major repair was performed on the transom and someone just engraved it back on for reference?

I was expecting some sort of pre-stamped official looking number.

Jeff.

They are all hand-engraved at the factory. There's no regulatory requirement that they be "officially stamped" into the fiberglass. Most monohulls have a spot in the mold where the number can be done with interchangeable letters/numbers. There are a lot of reasons why this doesn't work well for small catamarans - from unmolding problems to matching up the port and starboard hulls (that need to have identical numbers).

Thanks, I thought so but thought it prudent to check.

Jeff.
