I am in need of a bit of advice: I am looking to replace the jib clew blocks on my H16. The boat next to mine appears to have a set of Harken Big Bullet Blocks (#125 with breaking strength of 2000lbs).

When I look at Salty Dog Marine, they sell a stainless jib clew block for cheap ($5.20) but without a listed breaking strength.

I am thinking that I would like to stick with the Harken Carbo blocks and utilize #340 with a breaking strength of 1000lbs.

All of the blocks can hold up to 5/16 line. What do you suggest? Thanks for your help!

I think the blocks from salty dog look fine. The other blocks that you listed would be a bit overkill for the jib on a 16. Those blocks will never hold anywhere near 1000 lbs.

So, I would say go for the cheap ones, but that's because I never have any money :D
