Post subject: | Homegrown Psuedo Aussie 3:1 Jib System |
Hello. Being the poor medical student that I am, I am thinking of constructing my own pseudo aussie style 3:1 jib system. How much load will the blocks see? I am thinking of using the following blocks and attaching them to my pigtail and jib respectively. Harken 127: Breaking strength 2000lbs, SWL 600lbs Harken 169: Breaking strength 2000lbs, SWL 300lbs What do you think? Thanks for your help! Jeffrey |

I went with Harken 341 & 342 29mm Carbo blocks. Love it. |

Do you happen to know of an online store that has sub retail prices on those blocks? Thanks for your help! |

I ended up going with what Harken told me is the stock Hobie 16 setup: Harken 2655 ($21.00 at marine.com) and Harken 2637 ($18 also at marine.com) This should be better than my 1985 stock system. Thanks again for your help. |
