Stuck with two new trampolines...Anyone interested?

Post subject:  Stuck with two new trampolines...Anyone interested?
This shall sound odd, but I have come upon two new trampolines for my Hobie 16. Last Friday, I purchased a new, solid white vinyl trampoline from my local Hobie dealer. He sold it to me with my usual "you are a poor medical student" discount that lowered the price from $310 to $265.

I was as happy as could be and ready to install the tramp on Saturday, when my father arrived for a sail with a surprise...a new, solid vinyl trampoline. He paid full retail at a shop in Jersey, and they would like a 15% restocking fee (ouch).

So here are my options:
A) Save one of the trampolines as a spare (needed in about 15-20 years).
B) Pass the savings along to one of the members of this forum. I would simply like to receive $265 for the trampoline + $10 shipping. I am not looking to make a profit, and I would rather avoid a restocking fee and have someone else end up with a new trampoline.

You would have your choice; they are identical :) They are both made by Hobie, heat welded, 1 pocket, twisted hiking stramps, race legal.

You should either put it up on EBAY, or take it to a local Regatta. I am sure you will find somebody that would love a new tramp!

I recently became the proud owner of an older model hobie 16 that needs a new tramp. I was not sure if the vinyl or the mesh tramp was better over the long haul. Any thoughts?

My Hobie came with a Vinyl tramp, but I really like the feel of a Mesh one. Any opinions about the difference?

I tend to sail in cooler weather so I like the spray protection of the solid tramp. I get rid of all the water that tends to pool on it I just put a few grommets in strategic locations.

Vinyl vs. mesh.... neither one feels good. Both types cause raw knees. If you prefere to sit in puddles get the vinyl version. If you like it better to get spray from under the boat get a mesh type tramp. When it comes to hobie sailing - if you are not wet and your knees hurt at the end of the day - it was not a hobie day. ;-)
