Which is the best righting system? My '96 Hobie 16 has the Hawaiian style and is ready to be replaced. Should I keep the same system or switch to the other type? Any insights would be really appreciated. :?:

I'm a big fan of the Line Tied To The Dolphin Striker righting system. It requires tossing the line over the high hull when you flip, but I far prefer it over my old bungee-rope Hawaian style. The line is (for me) easier to hold, gets both people in the right spot to balance the boat while it is coming up and grap the striker when it rights, and is long enough to use to come up from a turtle. It also doesn't drag in the water and grow mold like my old one. Also, it's cheap!

I usually just wrap up the line when not in use and jam it under a hiking strap or in the tramp lacing.

Your Results May Vary.
