Anyone out there that has any extra lines for a 16 that they are trying to get rid of. Also, does anyone know of a dealer or marine company that sells lines at a discounted price. Thanks, Scott |

Scott, Check on ebay for Hobie stuff. There is a Salty Dog Marine that makes standing rigging for the glass Hobies. Maybe even a google search will find them. |

ECU I’ve cheap out on a lot of stuff over the years, but one thing I would definitely not cheap out on is the side shrouds, being demasted is no fun. For the amount of money you’re likely to save its well worth paying a few extra bucks and buy from Hobie. |

I have access to professional swaging tools but have never replaced standing rigging on any Hobie with anything but OEM and even then I have had at least one failure. My fault for trusting a very slightly frayed wire at the swage. Lesson: spend the $$ and don't take chances or spend time dismasted and lonely. Other lines and cordage however, I find that West Marine is a great place to look especially this time of year when they are looking to reduce inventory. I replaced my halyard for 32cents a foot with stuff that had been going for $1.25a foot. Good deal. |

I'm not trying to send anyone away from Hobie dealers. I have only used OEM standing rigging on both of my boats. But, when someone asks for "discount" materials I assume (I know the saying) they have already checked out those prices. |
