Matt,

Will the all wire, halyard from my old, bent/junk, non comp-tip mast work on my "new to me" comp-tip mast with rotted rope halyard? Should be the same length?

Seems to me there was a dimensional change from the stop swedge to the shackle. Different sheaves in the mast head. I was unable to locate a plan for the CompTip halyard to compare.

Matt's right - the old wire halyard has a shackle pin to stop dimension of 15 1/2". The Comptip halyard has a shackle pin to stop dimension of 13 1/2"

/ I am such a pack rat - I have an old halyard - intact - and I knew exactly where it was.

M and m,

I could have compared myself but it would have involved finding someone to help me get both masts down out of the rafters in the storage building at work and then putting them back up. Wanted to amass a "one time" order for the winter projects and figured someone would know. You saved me and an unsuspecting volunteer a lot of time and effort.

Thanks! :D
