Does anyone know if a trailer for a hobie 14 can be used for a hobie 16?

That depends if the hull cradles are adjustable.

Depends on the trailer. I'd test it before spending any money. Or at least measure really well, but some can, yes.

A good temp solution is to take the hull cradels off and use some wooden cross members. I used 2 2x4's bolted togeather and turned on thier sides. It almost made a 4x4. I did this for both the front a rear cross bars.
