I'm looking for a good used mast for my 83 H16 , I'm around Peterborough ON, but will go to pick it up if a reasonable distance.

If Delaware is reasonable I’ve got a spare comptip mast. Free.

Try Cat-a-list out of Toronto. (Google it)
Karen-Ann can connect you with other Hobie sailors.

Until the border is re-opened, it may be a challenge to find a mast.

Happy hunting

I too am in the market for a new mast. My '05 Hobie 16 was knocked over during TS Isaias. At first we thought there was no damage and the boat seemed ok during our Aug/Sept ventures, but when we put the boat away for the season this past weekend we saw that the mast is indeed bent.

I'm in southeast Connecticut so ideally would be looking for a mast in CT, RI, MA, or possibly Long Island. If anyone knows of one please let me know.

If it indeed is bent, not a dent, it can be straightened.
Joe of Joyrider TV has a youtube video dedicated to how you straighten a mast.
Good luck.

Wow, great to know. The mast in his video looks almost identical to mine in terms of the amount and location of the bend. This could save a lot of cash :)

Hobie 16 mast length is 26 feet. The comp tip mast is one piece. It will come apart but only for repair.
It is a lot of work to pull apart, fix whatever, then glue and seal back up.
Hobie 14 mast length is 22 feet, 3 inches.

We have one in Minneapolis, MN! Not composite, though.

Are you talking about the composite tip that Hobie puts on the mast? The old masts were one piece aluminum. The newer masts have an aluminum base and a fiberglass upper part, the "comp tip".

Are you still looking for a mast?
