Discovered major beach wear on both keels today. So much that a tremendaous amount of water leaked into the port hull. The boat handled terribly. After beaching the boat and empying quite a bit of water we turned the boat over to find both keels severally worn - could see a flap of fiberglass where water could easily enter. What's the proper procedure to fix this? Thanks for all of your help. I've learned lot from this site.

Upon a closer inspection we figured we could rout out some of the damaged area and fiberglass with epoxy and filler. I remember reading somewhere that there is a template of the hull to aid in getting the proper shape when you rebuild the hull bottom. Does anyone know where I can get such a template?

Be careful with the router! Get the hulls / foam as dry as possible. I would suggest to create a course surface (sand with some really course sandpaper) and start laminating. Use glass cloth - Probably tape style. Use a good quality epoxy (west system is good stuff but there are others as well) Do not think you could make it better, stronger or longer lasting with Kevlar or carbon.
Think about buying or building a set of beach wheels.
