Post subject:  Cleaning your Tramp?

I was wondering if anyone had tips on cleaning a trampoline. Its on a 77' boat, white vinyl hobie tramp, just wondering how to get it clean. I've tried the tramp cleaner from hobie and that was just like water... and various other house hold cleaners.. any other tips?
Thanks.

I'm by no means an expert but I have inherited a couple very weathered yet still semi-intact (light blue) tramps on my H14s... Side note: I wish Hobie had developed hiking straps with the longevity of their vinyl tramps, seems they are the chronic problem needing attention.

As to cleaning- Have you tried a medium-soft scrub brush?
I used one with one of the citrus-based, water solution cleaners followed by sponging and water rinse plus sponge or sun drying.

The rejuvenation is amazing!

I think with the texture of the vinyl tramps it takes something to get down into the depressions for a good result.

I tried pressure washing (at the car wash) and the result was good for first pass but I was starting with years of exposure out in a field or under someone's carport- algae, leaf debris, etc. I hope you have a better starting point.

Thanks I'll have to try that if it ever warms up here!!

And they definitely have to make those hiking straps better, I've owned many hobie cats and the hiking straps are either not there or there the first to go!

Try "Awsome" sold at Dollar General for a buck or two, this stuff is amazing on all types of surfaces including fiberglass, RVs and trailers. Use it with a brush.

I kept mine covered with a 12 x 20 tarp, but you know what happens in a warm and humid climate........yep.......mold. When I uncovered the boat last year my several month old trampoline was covered with mold. I went to Wal-Mart and bought some of the Attwoods mold and mildew remover and sprayed the topside, scrubbed with a stiff nylon brush and repeated on the underside of the tramp. The result was a trampoline that looked brand new again.

Has anyone every tried the Sea Spray Tramp Cleaner?

My boat sat under our walnut tree for a week and the tramp is already covered in nasty juice!
