I about died today. At work and the wind was howling. Could not sneak out from work. Had the 16 at work. Still had to take back to the sailing club and step the mast. Got there about 5:30. By 6:30 I was on the water.

Our '82 H16. We bought her two years ago, and the pic is from the bay-side of Cape San Blas.

Also, I'm glad to have found this forum. It looks like a lot of great information! :D

Without a doubt my favourite thread on these forums. Nothing in the world beats the 'classic' and the 'new' Hobie sail colours. Love some of these new Euro ones too!
Here are some recent photos of my Social Hobie Sailing Group here in South East Queensland, Australia. And to think it's Winter here atm.... piff!!!

The yellow H16 is my new to me '81. Near mint condition and completely solid. After an entire weekend of being sailed hard and left on the beach I can take the drain plugs out and not a single drop of water comes out :0)

Here is the link to the regatta info
http://www.juanaspagodas.com/RegattaNews.htm

Juana is the name of the lady that owns the bar that hosts the regatta and she puts on a really good regatta. The race is called Juana's Good Time Regatta. Plan on going home with a door prize also.
There is a thread on the 16 forum asking who is going. Last year there were 23 boats just in the H16 class. So lots of competition. Its all meant to be fun and competitive if you want to be. Check out the website with all the info about the race. I highly encourage you to try and make it. Its the race I look forward to every year.

If I want to go I suggest you register before the end of the month because the price goes up after august.
PM me is you want to know anything else about the race.

Here's my '81 that I've been working on refurbing this year. It's been a lot of fun so far, except for breaking a rudder yesterday. Oh well, from what I've read, that's how it goes in this sport!

Getting there on the Hobie 16 project I picked up about two years ago. First sail of this season was a bit cold. Boat looked great with the pirate flag up there though!
