Here's our '81 Hobie 16 'Flasher'. Appropriately named 'Almost Gone'. Purchased last year, and had a blast with it the half dozen times we got it out on Lake Erie and Lake Chautauqua. -Josh Buffalo, NY |

Going old school...here's a pic of my 1974 Red White and Blue Hobie 16 sitting on Caladesi Island, Florida next to my buddie's Keoke sometime around 1979. That boat got me through my highschool years and kept me out of trouble. Unfortunately, it was sold in the lat 80's following a major hull failure. |

Here is my '83 H16 with the original Hot Flash sails. This photo is almost 3 years old, but it still looks the same. Bought the boat in 2007, still holding up really well! |

Here's me and mine, rigging up on Santa Cruz, CA harbor beach. I bought it on SF bay Craigslist for $600. It's a 74, but I'm not sure how much is original. Found the mainsail a month later for $40 in better condition that the one that came with the boat. Here's another, launching at Bear Lake, UT Tow vehicle is my '88 VW Scirocco (where my screen name comes from). |

Little Wing wrote: I thought that colour was heat wave. It's real close to "Double Heat Wave" that was made in 1985 according to this sail color history PDF: http://2010.archive.hobiecat.com/support/pdfs/SailColorHistory.pdf Mine is just a single stack of yellow/orange/red, though, which it lists as Hot Flash. Kind of a funny sail pattern name... |

Love the VeeDubb - I had an 88' 16v Scriocco too - mine was silver, still my favorite car to this day I've ever owned - boy... wouldn't it be nice to turn the page and go back to 1988 again? Those were the days.... |

The chart might be a typo, # 47 is hot flash, I was sure yours is heat wave |
