Great day today! Sailed out to check out the start of the EC. Planning on doing it next year. Very jealous of those guys. Was 80 degrees, blowing 20-30 and we rode some waves that must have been 6ft. Sailed out to egmont key and checked out the old fort. Made it back into the bay before capsizing. Crew and I got her right up. Def pushed the threshold of our skills today. Glad the boat held together. Forecasting more of the same tomorrow, 20-30 from the south. Good luck to everyone, beating into that headwind is gonna be rough. Don't mean to rub it in but living in FL doesn't suck.

Are you guys checking out the race progress? There is a guy in a Tornado just flying. They have had hellacious wind, that started at 25030 knots off the nose, that turned around to their tail. Most racers had pulled off and camped to wait it out. The leader, Bumpy, camped about 20 hours the first night, and has gone non stop since. His last 2 10 minute legs have been at 17+ knots. He should finish before 1pm today. The next closest is waaaaayyyyyy behind.

You can follow it here: http://www.watertribe.com/Events/ChallengeMapper.aspx

The catamarans are in Class 5.

Do we know anyone who is racing in it this year?

Anyone know why it took Randy so long to finish the first phase of the long race?
