We have been using bear cans for years, and have never had a problem, unless we needs more cans in an hurry..chug chug chug...wait wrong forum. The tin can idea is one that has ben used for years! The most I have had to use was 4 strips 2 on each side cut into 1 inch wide strips

Man I tried getting the edge of the tin sheet in the castings and no way, it didnt go in...
will try again tomorrow....
you say that a 1" strip one on front and one rear of each casting will do the trick?
or top and bottom?

thanks!

Yes the boat will get much stiffer with the tramp on, nice and tight. If you can't get any thing in there it is proably tight already. If you do use expoxy, be sure you don't cover the vent holes.

We remove the tramp frame, fold about a 1/2 inch of the strip down the inside of the pylon and the rest point straight down to the hull, then take your mallet and beat the frame back down, we have a 3 pound plastic sledge with sand in it. We have put as many as 4 strips on a pylon and as few as one.
