Post subject:  Trapeze Height Adjusters
I have some plastic adjusters (rope locks) on my trapeze wires that are used to adjust the trapeze height. I am not a fan of them, had one slip and dump me in the water. Is there another, more secure means of adjusting the trapeze height?

Just wrap the line around the rope lock twice.

Did you thread the line through the rope lock/dogbone properly and are you using thick enough line (1/4")? In my experience, having them slip is rarely an issue. Usually it's the opposite problem in that they're difficult to adjust, especially after they've been used a couple times and the line takes a set.

I use 3/16" dyneema (without double wrap) and have never had one slip. It's imperative that the line be routed properly. I have heard of the entire piece failing, but I think it was old and heavily loaded. Word is that some of our bigger guys use two locks stacked together.

That is the tip of the day. Thanks! And thank you for the other posts. My guess is the one that slipped was mis-threaded. But, it was a scary scene. I was out on the wire, solo when I was dumped. Don't want that happening again.
