Unfortunately it seems that there is only one or two people moderating these forums. Most forums have members that volunteer to be mods, and can then look for stuff like this.

Since this is a corporately owned forum... that may not be a possibility.

***Note to the admins: A moderator does not have administartive powers.. they can only delete/edit threads. It would be worthwhile to add a couple of active forum members as mods... they can help regulate things like this, move threads to the appropriate forums, direct people to the appropriate forums etc. For example, this thread should be moved to the help /suggestions forum.

Regarding the spammer, you will want to ban their username, and maybe even their IP address.

As for volunteers - I am a mod on another website, and am willing to volunteer. I'm sure there are others as well.

Also admins, a helpful option is to enable the "report this thread to a moderator" link in each thread. I could not find one anywhere.

Better hurry though, it looks like they are going to be bombarding our threads very soon.

Count me in if we need moderators in this forum...I only have a few posts and joined recently but I log in from work at least 20 times a day to check on new posts etc...

We have very little spam actually. I review the members list on a regular basis to remove people trying to use us as a link in to their site.

I also delete spam when informed it is here.

mmiller (at) hobieco.com

I will forward the spam guard links to my web admin.
