 Post subject: Main traveler direction

I didn't note which way the traveler car faces when I removed it from the track. Is there a front and back? It doesn't look the same on both sides.

The open side faces aft. Looks like it would work either way though.

I think you are right. I tried it both ways and it seems to rest against the track better when it's tipped over (when there is lots of slack on the main sheet) this way. I thought I remember seeing something a post a while back about there being a right way this should face.

If you have an older boat with two block hangers on the boom I prefer to use the forward one. When I use the aft hanger the traveler seems to bind under wind load due to the lower angle.
