Post subject:  Hobie 16 Rudder Problems

Im sailing a Hobie 16 out of Dana Point, Ca, and have a few questions.
--At high speeds, I have to pull the tiller extremely hard towards me to keep
the boat going straight. Is this normal?
--Also at high speeds, the rudders hum occasionally. how can I fix this.

=Thanks for reading,
Robert

FAQ Section has this info - sounds like you don't have the rudder locked into the down position to me - or they are raked back too far - need to tuck the rudders under the transom further.
Here are some links for you to read:

Also the owner's manual might help explaining how to rig and sail the boat - big thing is getting the rig right and the rudders locked down (make sure your cams are functioning corectly)

You're right the rudders aren't locked into place. Both of the cams are jammed into place. Hopefully replacing them will do the job. Thanks for the feedback.
