Post subject:  Hobie 16 Mast dimensions

Hi all, I have an O'day sailboat that had it's original mast replaced by a PO with what I think is a Hobie 16 mast. The mast was cut down some to about 25'. The mast is aluminum and silver, not black, and it has the big single sheave masthead and halyard hook - that's what makes me think it's definitely from a Hobie.
The PO glued in a block of wood at the base of the mast and fit that block into the tabernacle hook on the boat. I'd like to replace the block of wood with a flat mast base and hinged mast step.
Can anyone here tell me the cross section dimensions of the H16 mast? My rough measurements were about 4.5" X 3", but I can't get a good measurement without removing either the block of wood or the masthead.
Does anyone know who manufactured the masts? Dwyer and Kenyon still sell parts, so I'm hoping its something from one of them or compatible.
Thanks!

We designed and had our own spars extruded. The bases are all ours. We don't have anything but the H16 "ball" base that fits this extrusion. The casting it steps into is shaped to fit the front crossbar, so neither would work well. Maybe get a stainless part fabricated?

I'll email you a drawing of the extrusion.

mmiller? I am interested in 3D printing a mast cradle. Do you have a drawing of the mast extrusion cross section as well as the rear cross member?
