Picked up a couple of these large boat trailer snubber's, thought they could be used as a mast rest, worked quiet well after a small modification.
As it came pre-modification:
I modified it by drilling another hole front to back so as to tie down through the tramp grommets and around the aft beam so as to retain it.
It sits on an angle against the aft beam but is secure and works well.
The mast clears the rear beam.
The previous owner used to tie mast down, directly to the aft beam (
) and over time the mast has worn into the traveler, so this is an improvement.
Best of all real cheap too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-boat-tr ... 4ad7836c31
I think stateside you call these bow stoppers or something similar.
