Picked up a couple of these large boat trailer snubber's, thought they could be used as a mast rest, worked quiet well after a small modification. As it came pre-modification: I modified it by drilling another hole front to back so as to tie down through the tramp grommets and around the aft beam so as to retain it. It sits on an angle against the aft beam but is secure and works well. The mast clears the rear beam. The previous owner used to tie mast down, directly to the aft beam ( ) and over time the mast has worn into the traveler, so this is an improvement. Best of all real cheap too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-boat-tr ... 4ad7836c31 I think stateside you call these bow stoppers or something similar. Cheers, SRG |

I think you should cut a slot in the bottom to go over the track. Then tie down would be easier and safer. Key is then holding the boat in position on the trailer, so the mast is not rolling the snubber fore and aft as the boat shifts. |

Thats a great suggestion will give it a go. On another use, these would could work great as hull blocks when for instance the boat is on its trolley wheels and the bows are resting on concrete or other hard abrasive surface. A coulpe of these stuck together under each bow / hull would act as a cushion to protect the hulls when at rest. SRG |

One of the best solutions I have seen for that are the larger diameter pool noodles cut in half with a bungee thru the middle. Position the padding under the hull, and wrap the bungee up top and connect to itself. |

They also work really well at holding cat trax. Our trailer came with one as some type of bow stop so we got another one from trailex along with the bracket. |
