I just picked up my first Hobie 16 w/ trailer and brought it home last night. I got a few blocks from my house and hit a bump and noticed the mast was no longer at the same angle. When I pulled over I saw what happened. It seems one side of the fork (not sure what this piece is called) broke so the mast slid off. Here's a picture of the part I'm talking about: http://imgur.com/HcywLBJ does anyone know what this thing is called and where I can get a replacement one? Is there something better to use that's more durable and easier on the mast? Thanks! |

That would be a bow stop adapted for use as a mast stand. I have the same for my h16. Any boating store would have them. Replace it with a yellowish polyurethane one if you can to avoid marks on mast next time. Good thing you had it strapped on there too. |

Here is one on amazon on the cheap. Does anyone think this is too skinny of a fit to hold the mast? http://smile.amazon.com/Shoreline-Marin ... s=bow+stop I was thinking about replacing my mast cradle. |
