I gotta jump in on this topic! I bought a mid '70's H16 this last summer that had some pretty good de-lam going on. I did a good fix on it, and if I don't say so myself, a darn good paint job! I think the airplane comparasen could go another direction. If Hobie put non slip on top of the hulls, which they did, you should be able to stand, sit, and maybe do a little jump on that area. If, like an aircraft, you're not to stand, push, or sit in an area lable it that way! NO PUSH, DO NOT SIT OR STAND IN THIS AREA, ect. I think Hobie scewed up and went a little light on the layers of glass on top of the hulls. Or maybe used the wrong filler material. Balsa may have been a better choice.
