How much should a h16 mast w/ comp tip weigh? I just helped a H16 sailor take down his all aluminum mast and it seemed a whloe lot lighter. Is ther a difference? Thanks Harry |

There should be very little difference in weight, but all masts vary due to differences in wall thickness of the aluminum etc. There is a several pound swing over the years and even between batches of aluminum from extruders. Could be the CompTip had water? |

How do you check for water? Last year I put her over and got the mast off the bottom, but I resealed the mast. The rest of the mast sounds empty when stepping the mast. I've a few pushed through rivets that makes the mast sound like a "rain stick" found in one of those nature stores. thanks Harry |
