Just had my hobie dealer install these...shouldn't the hole for the bungee cord be on the actual tiller arm, not the cross bar?

Yes, mine are on the tiller arm but i see a benefit to yours. The bungees tension will keep the threaded adjustment that you've set stationary for when you re-assemble not to mention sliding your tiller extension/hotstick under the bungee to keep your rudders locked up whilst backing your boat on the trailer down a ramp. My hobie 20's crossbar adjuster is no where near where i left it by the time i trailer my boat to a regatta or even to the house an hour away from the lake.

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure that it's ok to sail, every picture that I could find of the H20 connectors installed looks like this: Image

Also noticed that the adjustable end of the tiller crossbar is riveted. Shouldn't the adjuster be screwed in, not riveted in the event that the plastic threaded part needs to be replaced?

If you ever need to replace the female threads of the adjuster, that rivet can be removed fairly easily drilled out.

I never understood why Hobie didn't put a set screw on the adjustment end of the tiller adjuster. That seems like a no-brainer to me. Instead we have to wrap the adjuster in tape to keep it where we want it???
