Has anyone tried these Ronstan trapeze rings as part of an adjustable system:

I just ordered some with the companion cleats and am anxious to try them out. My biggest concern is that the shock cord would attach and pull from that bottom loop on the ring, which is an entirely different direction than the traditional trapeze system on a Hobie 16. Other than that, it seems like a much cleaner adjustment system to me.

The shock cord is not meant to be attached to the ring in that system.

It's typically attached just below the handle, so that changes in the trapeze height don't affect the tension on the shock cord.

The problem with systems like this is the big steel loop that's swinging around at head level. They hurt. Don't ask me how I know this.
