Well I cut the comptip 4 inches without a problem. I had to take off the halyard holder and come to find out there is a back plate on it located in the tip. Since its fiberglass I'm sure thats why its there so the rivits dont pull through the glass. Anyway I was able to take a screwdriver and take out a bit of the foam core enought to slide it to the proper position and then got the halyard holder rivited back in place. I wasnt expecting to have to do that.
I need to replace the little bit of foam that I had to take out. Does anyone know something that will work good for that. Its not very much but I think it should be filled to maintain the inside consitancy of the comp tip.
The string will be cut. I attached it to the back plate in case I needed to remove it if it didn't fit right.
After that I just need to put the cap back on.
Thanks
