I just got a set of new trapeze wires (1471B) for my boat and realized that there's no way for me to transfer the blocks from my old trap setup to the new wires.

I'd rather not spend $40 on a pair of blocks with the removable cotter pins considering I have perfectly good blocks.

Perhaps I get new nicropress fittings, cut the new trap wires (saving the thimbles), cut back the slieeve, install the old blocks, and recreate the loop with the new nicropress fittings?

Or is there an easier solution?

Who has some thoughts?

Can you not drill out the pin holding the sheeve on the old blocks and replace with a clevis pin?
