Weds night Club races, winds SW 8 knots, gusting 16, perfect conditions. Lucky for me, I picked up new crew - a young fella from the Race Team, he is an instructor at the Club's Sailing School. His first time on a catamaran, but he knew his stuff....we made a good team.
Upwind on the first leg, we could hold with Joaquin's F18, all the way up to the first mark, single trapping. Then the F18 raised their spin and were gone. Oh well.
We zoomed around the course, happy as clams in this good wind.
Paul, on his new (used) C2 capsized after their spin halyard stuck during a take down. Oops.
We continued to chase the F18 on the upwind legs. Siki, my new crew, was in his element.
I love it when a 50 something year old design can catch a 'modern' boat.
