If you are interested in reading about a really cool endurance race in the Philippines going on next month, I have posted a thread under the Racing forum. It is 250 nautical miles over 5 days. Check it out.

On top of the distance race I believe it is also some bouy racing all done on 16's!

This would be a great event! Does hobie have something to do with it or is it just some other group?

It's called a "Hobie Challenge." No Nacras allow. Check out the link.

I know there are no Nacra's allowed, but I didn't know if Hobie actually sponsered it or not.

Plus my friend is shopping for a 16 right now so we can start going to Hobie events.

No, Hobie does not sponsor it. It is organized by the local Philippine Hobie fleet. They just changed websites, so the new one doesn't have all the stuff the old one had. But you can find out more, and hopefully get updates, at

www.philhobie.com

Also, I want to thank our sponsors. These guys -- plus the local Seattle Fleet 95 -- are really stepping up to support us. People like:

Barz Optics, Harken, Gill, Larabar, Murray's, Layline, Fisheries Supply, and Zhik.

Traveling 1/2 way around the world to race and camp on remote islands is not an easy chore. It is taking a lot of effort. (For example, check out the NOR regarding safety equipment!) Many thanks to the sponsors and Fleet 95.
