Post subject: | Glue for numbers on sail |
Some of the numbers on my sail are coming unattached as is the Hobie "H". Any ideas as to what sort of adhesive to use to re-attach them? Also, some of the old adhesive is on the sails where the numbers were attached. Do I have to remove it first? And if so, with what? I don't want to wreck the sails with the wrong solvent or cleaner. I have an '84 Hobie 16. Small problem, I know. But any help is appreciated. Thanks! |

Contact cement should do the trick. You would have to clean off any loose bits on the sail, but no need to clean it off completely. |

I used 3M Super 77 spray glue and it worked great. I peeled off the number and laid it face-down on a paper towel. Sprayed it with Super77 and waited 45 seconds, then sprayed again and re-applied the number to the sail. Good luck! Jim |
