Does anyone have any experience with single handing a 17 with a spinaker? I just bought one with it and am curious with some techniques in sailing one. I have sailed with a spinaker on sonars and 420's with crews. I also have been sailing a prindle 18 and a hobie 16 with out a spinaker. Anyone have any advise?

I was looking into this a couple of years ago and had decided not to. I have a H17Sport and considered adding a SPI, then looked into a Hooter since it furls. My two main reasons for not adding either sail is the questionable strength of the comp tip for the additional tang that would be needed and the added set-up and take down time. If you install either, let me know how it goes. 8)

Phil Danbe from New Jersey has installed a spinnaker on his 17.

I don't have an e-mail for him, but his phone number is 973@628@6799
