Here is a picture of a solution to the briddle and forstay adjuster connections. I know it is on a Tiger but it works the same. It does not use a furler though. You might be able to adapt the idea to a furler.
You probably are using a piece of line instead of the bar to hold the spin pole. In this picture the boat is on the trailer and the mast is down.
The briddle wires on this Tiger and my FX had the same forks for ends. The forks on the FX were smaller though. I had seen a few Tigers with the forks overlapped and pinned through the shackle.
All I did was buy a longer pin that the tiller fitting would fit over.

It is holding up pretty well, it has survived several wicked capsizes and a pitch pole. And the NAs at Harrison BC, all 5 days of sailing in mostly heavy winds.
