Use a hot knife (essentially an X-Acto blade in a soldering iron) to shape the end of the bolt rope.

the reason I replaced mine is that my old one is in ribbons. Failing in about a dozen places, in a dozen different ways. You wouldn't want it.

That aluminum track piece is a booger to get on. What made it easy, was to cut a V groove in a 2x4 the same length as the extrusion and use it to squeeze it most of the way on to the mast (wood piece also on the opposite side of the mast) with a bar clamp or jumbo C clamp. A rap with da hammer popped it on.

thephinsrule - sorry I'm keeping the OM sail for racing. Apparently there are no Portsmouth numbers for my boat with the whirlwind sail. Good luck looking.
