Any of you Hobie 17 folks install the 1-piece gudgeon? The existing ones on mine are about due for replacement.

Matt, which set does Hobie advise using...H16 or H18?

Sail fast, Tom G

Which set?

The 17 castings are the same as an 18, so the 18 version... if it fits. I am not clear on that.

I have a set that was installed on an 18 with the new style lower castings. You have to drill and tap new screw holes for the attaching screws because they don't match up with the holes for the original gudgeons. Also, if you put the new bushings in the gudgeons and the castings, you need to grind a little of the casting away to make room. It is a tight fit anyway, but the bushings make it too tight between the castings and gudgeons. Once they are installed, though, it is AMAZING how nice they work! No slop!!
