Well, looks like I will soon have another Hobie to add to my Fleet. I expect I will have my H17 in May. One thing the current owner said that I haven't heard before that I want to pass by you other 17 sailors. Do you have difficulties raising the main when it gets to the comp tip section of the mast? I wonder if this is a common problem or if the Luff on the main is just worn. |

All models have this "issue", but its more a matter of the sail being 3/4 of the way up... not that it is related to the CompTip. Its due to the luff curve and sometimes battens in a Cat sail. Read the sail hoist FAQ for best results hoisting sails. Even at a National and Worlds level event I see people struggling for no reason. Its easy when done correctly. http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=371 Pay close attention to feeding the sail rather than trying to pull it up into the feeder with the halyard. |
